Yami Gautam, known for her critically acclaimed performances in films like Article 370 and A Thursday, is now preparing for her upcoming release, Dhoom Dhaam, a new-age romantic comedy with a twist. The film, directed by Rishab Seth and produced by Aditya Dhar, is set to premiere on Netflix on February 14.

In a recent interview, Yami shared her reasons for choosing this light-hearted project after a series of intense roles. She explained her desire to surprise the audience, stating, “Can you surprise the audience? Can you be unpredictable for them, when they’re expecting something else? If we manage to do that, and hopefully, if we manage to do that once the film is released, then our job is done. The whole idea is giving something unexpected.”
Describing Dhoom Dhaam as a fresh take on the rom-com genre, Yami added, “I think it’s a very dying genre, and this is a new-age rom-com, in the space of caper comedy; very commercial, family entertainer, and cracking which was a challenge for us. Neither the film nor the music album was easy to understand. I genuinely enjoyed the music as well, and I think the masses will love it.”
The film also marks the first on-screen pairing of Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi, which has already generated significant buzz among fans. Netizens are eagerly awaiting another versatile performance from Yami, who has consistently impressed audiences with her diverse roles.
With its unique blend of comedy, romance, and music, Dhoom Dhaam promises to be a festive treat for viewers this Valentine’s Day.
