Hans Zimmer Australia Tour 2025: German composer sparks pre sale ticket frenzy among Aussies


Aussies are once again flocking to Ticketek en masse for their chance at tickets to see a global household name in the flesh.

This time, it’s not a chart-topper like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd or Olivia Rodrigo who’s causing the frenzy.

It’s an artist whose music you’ve probably heard without even realising it.

Hans Zimmer, the acclaimed German composer behind some of the most prominent movie soundtracks and scores in recent memory, is coming to Australia this year for his first live shows in six years.

The Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer, whose incredible music has anchored films including Interstellar, Dune, The Lion King, The Dark Knight and Gladiator, will perform just three shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in April.

His last time performing Down Under was in 2019.

The Frontier Touring pre-sale for Melbourne and Sydney’s shows kicked off at 11am AEDT, with Brisbane’s starting at 11am AEST, and to say it’s hotly contested would be a major understatement.

More than 10,000 fans were in the queue for tickets at one point, and by 11.20am, 9honey received anecdotal reports of difficulty purchasing for Sydney and Melbourne.

The general public sale for Zimmer’s concerts begins tomorrow.

The audio-visual performances will see the composer joined by a 19-piece live band and full orchestra, as well and Aussie singer Lisa Gerrard.

The shows will feature a selection of Zimmer’s scores from Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, The Lion King, The Last Samurai and Dune. Gladiator.

“I’m thrilled to return to Australia with my wonderful band and excited to share this phenomenal show,” the composer said in a statement as the shows were announced.
