Shamita Shetty feels fortunate to have debuted with the timeless film Mohabbatein, which marks its 25th anniversary this year. The film, directed by Aditya Chopra and produced under Yash Raj Films, launched Shamita, the younger sister of Shilpa Shetty, into Bollywood.

The hit musical romance Mohabbatein was released in theatres on October 27, 2000. Shamita Shetty, who played the feisty college student Ishika, said it’s a “great feeling” to see her debut film complete 25 years.
“I’m happy that after so many years I’m still standing here. I was very lucky to have debuted in a film like that. It was a dream debut for me and that’s a film that I can still watch. It’s timeless,” Shamita Shetty told PTI at Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI.
The 46-year-old actor, known for films like Zeher, Bewafaa, Cash, and the reality show Bigg Boss 15, said she is eager to take on new projects.
“I’m waiting for something nice to come my way. Let’s see if there’s some filmmaker out there who believes I can do good work on screen. I’m ever willing to work,” she added.
Shamita also congratulated Lakme Fashion Week on its 25th edition.
