Candice Bergen’s husband, Marshall Rose, has passed away at the age of 88.
The Murphy Brown and Sex and the City star’s partner died in their New York home while surrounded by his loved ones on February 16.
The Express reports Rose died as a result of complications from Parkinson’s disease following “many years of extraordinary strength and resilience.”

The real estate mogul is survived by his wife and their children Wendi and Andrew; his step-daughter Chloe; and his grandchildren Alexander, Clio, Ell, Milo, Arthur, and Alice.
Bergen’s husband was also well known for his philanthropic pursuits, working for decades on the New York Public Library board.
Rose’s family remembers him for his “legacy of fierce compassion, stubborn persistence, and commitment to cheering on the Knicks.”

The father of three was respected for his “wisdom, strength, and generosity of spirit”. His funeral will be held on February 18th at Central Synagogue in New York.
Rose was born in Brighton Beach in 1937; he went on to study economics at City College before studying for a law degree at NYU.

The Georgetown Company, a non-profit real estate developer, was founded in 1978 and saw Rose working on several significant projects, including Frank Gehry’s IAC building and the renovation of Madison Square Garden.

Bergen is perhaps most famous for her titular role in Murphy Brown; the CBS sitcom was so successful, the Canadian actress earned five Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes.
She also starred in Sex and the City in the ’90s as Vogue editor Enid Frick, a role she would later reprise in the spin-off series And Just Like That.
The actress’ movie credits include Carnal Knowledge, Bride Wars, Miss Congeniality and Sweet Home Alabama.
Prior to marrying Rose, Bergan was married to Louis Malle, who died in 1995 from cancer.
